California: Researchers have recently revealed a link between depression and an increase in body temperature.
According to media reports, a team of American researchers has found a link between body temperature and depression in a recent study, but they have not been able to figure out which of the two causes.
American researchers say that recent findings indicate that changes in body temperature may help treat depression. More than 20,000 people from 106 countries were included in the study.
Ashley Mason, lead author of the study and associate professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, said, "This is the largest study to our knowledge of the relationship between body temperature and depressive symptoms.".
"Given the high rates of depression in the world, during the study we are seeing potential of treatment pattern that can used to control body temperature," Professor Ashley said in the news release.
